Year 7 Challenge Cup

The Year 7 Challenge Cup has continued with matches from both weeks 5 and 6. Students are continuing to demonstrate ongoing dedication and achieving notable success in their participation. 

In the fifth round of girls' competitions, Brucchauser faced off against Patrician in Touch Football. The tightly contested and back-and-forth match ended with Brucchauser securing a 5-2 victory. Moore demonstrated their strength in Soccer, overpowering Sedgewick with a final score of 5-3. The Netball match between Dunne and Chisholm was a close encounter, but Dunne emerged victorious with a narrow 17-16 win.

The featured mixed game of the week showcased Hogan girls competing against the boys from Patrician. In a delightful and amicable match, Patrician claimed victory, winning 4 sets to 1.

On the boys' side of the competition, Moore faced off against Sedgewick in Basketball, engaging in a seesaw battle that concluded with Moore securing a 25-22 win. The NFL Flag Football match between Brucchauser and Chisholm saw Chisholm taking an early lead and maintaining it throughout the game, ultimately winning 17-15. In the final match, Hogan and Dunne went head-to-head in Lacrosse, with Hogan emerging triumphant in a tight contest, securing a 2-1 victory.

During round 6, the clash between Chisholm and Sedgewick girls in NFL Flag Football was a standout event. The Chisholm girls secured a thrilling 21-15 victory in a high-scoring match. Meanwhile, the Brucchauser and Dunne girls faced off in Lacrosse, with Brucchauser delivering a commanding performance and emerging triumphant with a 14-6 score. In the realm of Netball, the Hogan girls displayed dominance, securing a resounding 11-0 win against Moore.

In the highlight mixed game of the week, the Patrician girls went head-to-head with the boys from Sedgewick in a unique hybrid game called snake Volleyball, necessitated by the MISA sport utilising the Volleyball courts. In a delightful and high-scoring affair, Sedgewick emerged victorious with a score of 44, narrowly surpassing Patrician's 40.

Shifting focus to the boys' competitions, Patrician faced off against Chisholm in Touch Football, delivering a dominant performance and securing a convincing 6-0 win. The soccer match between Brucchauser and Dunne showcased a strong game, with Brucchauser emerging triumphant with a 5-0 score. In the final bout of the day, Moore and Hogan battled it out in Basketball, resulting in a closely contested match that saw Moore emerge as the victors with a 22-19 score.

Following six rounds of the Year 7 Challenge Cup, Moore house continues to emerge as the overall leader with an impressive 26 points. Chisholm closely trails in second place with 23 points, while Brucchauser holds the third position with 22 points. A heartfelt congratulations goes out to all Year 7 students for their ongoing participation in the House Challenge Cup. Best of luck to everyone as we approach rounds 7 and 8 in the upcoming weeks.
