Year 7 Challenge Cup

The final two rounds of the Year 7 House Challenge Cup took place in weeks 7 and 9, with wet weather spoling round 8. In week 7 for the girls, we had Dunne and Moore play Touch Football. In a high scoring affair, Moore won the game 11-5. Chisholm and Hogan competed in a game of Soccer, with Chisholm winning emphatically 6-0. In the final girls game of the round, we had Patrician and Sedgewick play off in Netball. In a tightly contested match, both teams came away with points in a 15-all draw. 

In the mixed game of the round, we had the boys of Hogan and the girls of Bruchhauser play Snake Volleyball. In a very high scoring affair, Hogan boys won 100-94.
On the boys side of the draw, Moore took on Patrician in a game of Flag Football. Both teams played exceptionally well and both came away with points in a 7-all draw. In another drawn match, Chisholm and Sedgewick played Lacrosse, both scoring 6 points each. In the final match of the round, Bruchhauser and Dunne played Basketball. Dunne were just too strong on the court, winning in a close match 18-16.

After a washed out round 8, we went into the final round with 3 points separating 1st and 2nd in the overall point score. To start off on the girls side of the draw, we had Bruchhauser and Sedgewick play in a game of Touch Football. Bruchhauser were too strong on the day, winning 6-1. On the Netball court, Chisholm took on Hogan. In a back and forward match, Chisholm came out on top 13-9.  Moore and Patrician faced off on the Soccer pitch. Moore in a dominant performance won 4-0.
In the mixed game of the round, the girls from Dunne took on the boys from Moore. The boys from Moore took the win 32-27. 
Heading to the boys side of the draw, we had Bruchhauser and Sedgewick play off in a game of Flag Football. In a strong contest by both teams, Bruchhauser came out on top winning 2-1. Chisholm and Dunne took to the court in Basketball with Chisholm taking home the win 12-5. And in the final match of the competition, Hogan and Patrician played Lacrosse. In a tight game, Patrician just came through at the end, winning 3-2.

Once all scores had been tallied, we had our winner. A massive congratulations to Moore, our Year 7 House Cup Champions for 2023! Thank you to all the students who embraced the House competition, participating strongly in each game and with fantastic sportsmanship. Thank you also to the teachers and the Sports Leaders who facilitated the running of the competition. And finally Year 7, well done on another great sports term. Enjoy your break and we will see you back in 2024.
