Feast Day Musicians
Magdalene Feast Day Mass - Musicians
Term 3, Week 1 was a busy time for Music staff and student musicians with the Magdalene Feast Day Mass on Thursday 25 July. Year 12 students enthusiastically attended lunch rehearsals on their first day of the new term and quickly designated leadership roles within the Music Ensemble. Vocalists Emilia Leopardi, Myah Donohue, Chloe Rice and Chelsea Clapson performed beautiful vocal melodies with secure and carefully considered harmonies. Our vocalists were perceptively accompanied by Alexander Cooper-Crowley on keyboard, Ethan Williams on bass guitar, Joseph Piekfe on electric guitar and Liam Donnelly on the drum kit. Our Year 12 students are to be acknowledged for their positive contributions and significant musical contribution to the celebratory occasion.

Magdalene Feast Day - Music Performances
Year 12 students took responsibility late last term to create an extensive ‘playlist’ of repertoire in preparation to perform and entertain the Magdalene community at our Feast Day celebrations on Friday 26 July. Music students and staff moved staging and rock band music equipment to the Fair to create an outdoor performance space to ensure access to the students and the festivities. Special thanks to Year 12 Music students, Year 12 vocalists, Year 9 Music students and performers.

College Assembly
The Music Department would like to acknowledge Chelsea Clapson on her energetic and stylistic vocal performance of ‘Valerie’ at the College Assembly in Week 2. Performing at such events early in the term can be challenging, however Chelsea was very prepared and capably accompanied by Alexander Cooper-Crowley, Joseph Piekfe, Ethan Williams and Liam Donnelly. Year 9 and Year 10 Music Ensemble students are currently preparing performances for future College Assemblies to be held later in Term 3.
National Anthem Volunteers
Our Creative and Performing Arts Councillors for 2024 Emilia Leopardi and Myah Donohue currently alternate the duties of leading the singing of the National Anthem at official school functions. However, all students at the College are invited to lead the singing at College events and any inspired vocalists are asked to register their interests with Ms Curtis.
