Downie Shield results
Congratulations to the Magdalene Opens Cricket Team who played in the Downie Shield Cricket Competition on Thursday 31st October. All students played with great determination and sportsmanship, narrowly going down to St John XXIII in their round match. All the students represented the College with great spirit, determination and skill and were competing against a much older team of players.
After being set a total of 220 runs to chase, our team only just went down by two runs, being all out for 218. All students showed excellent sportsmanship at the end of the game, despite their great disappointment after playing so well throughout the day.
Congratulations to the following students:
James Sinfield, James Tidy, Jake Murray, Koby Hamilton-Jones, Will Morris, Joel Parish, Harrison Sinfield, Zac Condon, Declan Donaghey, Bella Stevens, Sean Brazier, Christine Brazier and Harry Kirkman.
In particular, some great bowling and fielding efforts by James Sinfield (4/41) and James Tidy (2/26), who captained the team so well. Our batting efforts were outstanding - James Sinfield (50), Jake Murray (25) and Koby Hamilton-Jones (105 - his highest score).
