Success on the Sporting Field

We've recently enjoyed some outstanding success on the sporting field!
Lucas Bentham and Kade Graham represented Magdalene Catholic College at the NSWCCC Rugby League Trials. Congratulations to Lucas on his selection in the U15 NSWCCC Rugby League Team, where he will represent NSWCCC at the upcoming Australian Schools Rugby League Championships in Townsville. Congratulations also to Kade on his selection in the U15 NSWCCC Country Rugby League Team.

Blessing Donvenekham and Charlie Noble have both earned selection into the U18 and U16 NSWCCC Girls Rugby League teams through their respective NSW Southern Country squads. Charlie will travel to Townsville to compete in the Australian Schools Rugby League Championships, while Blessing will join the U18s team at the Championships in Coffs Harbour this July. We wish both girls the best of luck in their upcoming competitions.

In Week 4, five swimmers proudly represented Magdalene at the NSW All Schools event. Bryce Parish achieved an outstanding 3rd place in the Boys 17+ 50m Breaststroke, earning selection in the Australian All Schools team. A special mention goes to Kara Hocking, who placed 7th in the 200m Butterfly, as well as the Girls 15–16 Years Medley Relay team (members: Kara Hocking, Roseanna Wiggins, Brianna Richards & Laura Mcdonald), who also secured 7th place in their event.

In Week 5, ten talented Magdalene students proudly represented the College at the Diocesan Cross Country Championships in Wollongong. The team achieved outstanding results, with the majority of our athletes placing within the top 10 of their respective age groups.

A special congratulations goes to Bronte Clark, who placed 2nd in the Girls 17+ years category, and Harrison Kourembes, who finished 3rd in the 15 Years Boys division – an exceptional effort by both students!

We now wish the very best of luck to the following students as they prepare to compete at the NSWCCC Cross Country Championships later this month:
Alodia-Rose Arrazia, Rosanna Wiggins, Bronte Clark, Luca Sen, Harry Brookes, and Harrison Kourembes.
We are incredibly proud of you all – good luck!
