Year 10 Food Technology
Last week the year 10 Food Technology students completed their practical assessment, showcasing a variety of icing skills they've developed throughout the term. Students were tasked with baking a cake from scratch and then applying a smooth base icing, followed by creative decorative techniques. The results were truly impressive, from piped flowers and layered buttercream to themed toppers and colour blending. Each cake reflected the students’ growth, showing their developing confidence, precision, presentation and eye for design. The assessment highlighted not only the technical ability and skills, but also the creativity and time management under pressure. The final cakes were not just visually impressive, but also reflected the understanding of presentation and skills during the process.
