Mathematics News
Thank you to the parents and carers who responded to the Maths Pathway feedback survey. We are also grateful for the students who gave very candid responses.
The feedback was overwhelmingly in favour of proceeding with the Maths Pathway model for teaching Mathematics in 2020.
There were some reservations, however, which were made very clear by the responses. These reservations included ensuring that Maths Pathway was not the only pedagogy used, that students would still have access to explicit instruction from the teacher and that students should have opportunities to be exposed to Stage 4 content while consolidating gaps in their knowledge.
The Mathematics faculty has taken all the responses on board and has decided to implement the program as a primary, but the not sole method, of instruction.
We will continue to evaluate all suggestions made to us in the survey. We look forward to providing you with further updates about this and encourage you to contact us if you have further questions or concerns.
Best wishes for a safe and enjoyable break.
