Year 11 Textiles and Design Excursion
On Friday the 6th March, the Year 11 Textiles and Design class visited Ultimo TAFE where they engaged in a Major Works seminar and exhibition. This provided an opportunity for the students to analyse each component of the design folio and view the meticulous and highly creative projects on display. Following this, the students visited the Powerhouse Museum to view the Cue: 50 Years of Fashion exhibition, highlighting industry practices in illustration and toile manufacturing to produce garments. Following this they viewed the Jenny Kee and Linda Jackson exhibition where they were greeted with an explosion of colour and textile art. This was a delight and provided much needed inspiration for the class in the development of their design ideas.
