Online Teaching and Learning Update
Online Teaching and Learning Update
Through Week 11, Magdalene staff have completed a variety of professional learning activities to prepare for the online teaching and learning that will recommence at the beginning of Term 2. Employing technology to support learning is part of our established practice and the College has been well-prepared to move our teaching and learning online. We feel confident that we have the tools available to support our students through this period.
As we move into Term 2, please note some of the key processes regarding teaching and learning online.
Google Classwork
All tasks set for a day will be released through Google Classroom by 8.15am. |
Each set task will include an indication of the expected time required for completion. |
Clear expectations will be outlined by the teacher regarding the due date for set work. |
All tasks set can be used by teachers to ascertain grade achievement and make judgements regarding student progress. |
Teacher/Student/Parent Communications
If a student has not completed work/been online for three consecutive lessons, teachers will make contact with the student/parent/carers as necessary. |
If a student is unwell and unable to complete set tasks, parent contact must be made with the pastoral teacher. |
Staff will endeavour to respond to student emails within 24-48 hours (working days). |
If your child is having difficulty with any aspect of online learning, please contact your child’s class teacher. If there are further concerns or questions, please contact one of the following members of staff: Mr Shaun Houghton, Curriculum Coordinator houghtons01@dow.catholic.edu.au Miss Stephanie Phillips, Leader of Teaching and Learning phillipss01@dow.catholic.edu.au Mrs Ivana Forner, Pastoral Care Coordinator |
