Magdalene B.Y.O.D.D Learning Technology Program
Magdalene operates a B.Y.O.D.D (Bring Your Own Designated Device) 1:1 Laptop program for Years 7 – 12 which requires every student to supply his or her own Apple Laptop. The decision on the best option and size of MacBook purchased needs to be made by you the parents/carers, as you will have ownership and control of the MacBook.
IMPORTANT:
- The College strongly recommends the NEW Apple MacBook Air 13” - 256GB with the M1 chip as the minimum requirement. https://www.apple.com/au/
- Please ensure that you purchase the MacBook with AppleCare + 3 Year Warranty and Accidental Damage Coverage*
- Students MUST have a strong durable protective case
- The B.Y.O.D MacBook program is a compulsory condition of enrolment at Magdalene Catholic College.
- The College will provide students with the necessary IT Support and software needed for their education.

Purchase a new Apple MacBook from a Commercial Outlet
Purchase a new Apple MacBook model and carry case from any commercial retailer. The College’s preferred reseller is EDUCOMIT who are based in Smeaton Grange (Unit 14, 151 Hartley Road). Please be aware that the standard warranty is limited to only 12 months unless the *AppleCare+ 3 Year Warranty and Accidental Damage Coverage is purchased.
* AppleCare+ for Mac provides up to three years of expert technical support and additional hardware coverage from Apple, including up to two incidents of accidental damage, each subject to a service fee of A$149 for screen damage or external enclosure damage, or A$429 for other damage.
