A huge congratulations to the boys on how far they have come. It was great to unearth some potential AFL players for the future season. Great season. Player of the match - Shea Devine.

AFL - Girls Years 7-8

Mrs Hort

vs John Therry - Loss 26-21

Well done girls - even though the result didn’t go our way, your skills and game sense has definitely improved over the season. It was an absolute pleasure to coach you. MVP - Every single player.

Softball - Girls Years 7-8

Miss Angelopoulos

vs St Patrick’s (Grand Final) - Draw 7-7

The girls had a competitive game against St Pat’s. Although they came away with a draw (7-7) they should be commended for their sportsmanship and positive attitude. MVP - all of the players showed their personal best.

Indoor Cricket - Boys Years 9-10

Mr Ferry

vs John Therry - Loss 78-73

A huge improvement yet again! Last time the boys lost to JTHC by over 50; this time, they were in it until the third last ball and lost by 5. Two awesome catches by Curtis Simon and a top partnership of 26 by Ryan and Brock.

Volleyball - Boys Years 9-10

Mr Morrison

vs St Benedict’s - Loss 2-0

Great effort throughout the term. Improved every game and missed out with some close matches. MVP - Rhett Coe

Volleyball - Girls Years 9-10

Miss Cupillari

vs Mt Carmel (Grand Final) - 2-0

The girls really came together today and put in a fight in the grand final today. The first set was a close one but unfortunately we could not hold a lead in the second set. MVP - whole team for a great season. Good job girls.

Ultimate Frisbee - Mixed Team Years 9-10

Mr Wakeling

vs St Patrick’s - Win 16 -12

A much better start with everyone working together. Defensive effort created pressure which resulted in mistakes that we capitalised on. A never give up attitude saw the lead swap four times in the second half before some great attacking play gave us the game.

Sport Assembly - Tuesday 8th December

The final week of sport for 2020 was held on Tuesday 8th December with a sports assembly and year group competition consisting of sports such as touch football, basketball, netball, OzTag, Ultimate Frisbee and newcombe ball being played.

At the Sports Assembly, students were recognised for their participation and achievement in sporting events that were conducted throughout the year. Two guest speakers, Kieran Govers (retired Australian Hockey Field Player) and Jacob Poscoliero (Australian Football player and Macarthur Bulls Development Officer) provided important messages about participation in sport and the importance of sustained effort and resilience in every activity. It was great to hear the advice and information provided from these athletes and their attendance at the assembly was greatly appreciated.

Sportsmanship Awards 2020
