Year 9 Reflection Day

On Thursday the 19th of April, Year 9 was blessed with the presence of Christopher Doyle. Throughout the course of the day Year 9 students were given the opportunity to sing, write and listen to his wisdom that he provided.

The day started with students gathering in the CAPA block and listening to Chris’ amazing performances and welcoming students to come to the stage and also perform in front of the Grade. Students were then given the opportunity to connect to us all through the use of the white tape carpet where students and teachers were invited to walk down the carpet and try not to get embarrassed. Chris was able to provide a Comedic experience and was easily able to connect to all Year 9 students, making it an enjoyable first quarter.

After recess, students returned to more songs and singing before being posed questions about the future and what the future can hold and the hard work that is required to be able to have a nice and successful future for each Year 9 student. Chris would ask a question and the two sides would represent an answer. This gave Year 9 students the opportunity to think about the future.

After listening to some more music performed, Chris taught students about the meaning of different types of love and how people have had to give up to be able to make us all live a happy and great life. This was able to teach students that life cannot be easy without the assistance with others and your own hard work.

In conclusion, Chris Doyle created a comedic and enjoyable day for all Year 9 students for the Year 9 reflection day. Speaking on the behalf of all Year 9 students, I would say that students did enjoy the experience and would recommend him to return and give the same experience to other students in the future.
