Chess at Magdalene
Chess this term kicked off with students representing the College in the NSW Interschools Chess Challenge. Across the day competitors engaged in six Swisse system chess games, matching them up against opponents who were equally capable players.
The team demonstrated a competency and sportsmanship that made the College proud. Highlights were both Sami Ahmad of Year 12 and Luke Small of Year 11 winning four of their six games, just missing out on a place in the winners' bracket.
I'd like to commend Luke Small, Declan Bone-Wright, Tee-jay Melville, Skye Melville, Sami Ahmad, Zachary Street, Charlie Roberts and Kyle Ritchie for their efforts on the day.
