From the Career's Department
UNIVERSITY OF TASMANIA
No it was not a holiday destination....students interested in future study in Paramedicine and Nursing travelled by bus to the University of Tasmania's Rozelle Campus where they run highly regarded courses in these two areas.

MACARTHUR CAREERS EXPO
Planning for the future - the pavillions were filled with the buzz of voices!
After two very quiet years it was exciting for Year 11 students to be able to talk face to face with representatives from various institutions and industries. The information they got helped them to plan their pathways after school.
PAINT MY RIDE
A couple of weeks ago three Year 11 girls attended a demonstration of putting finishes on vehicles. Staff were so impressed with the girls they were invited back to do a hands-on activity.
This trade has moved like many others into having a scientific and technical basis. The girls learnt how to analyse vehicle colour, how to mix the paint by computer, about high safety standards in the work areas and were also invited to spray paint some practice panels. Brilliant!!
Last Monday girls from Year 7 to 12 attended a trade activity day run by SALT. The visitors who ran the day commented how focused and inquisitive the girls were. At the end of the day much excitement over their finished products and certificates of achievement. They heard from Industry, Naomi from Roberts Co and Verto briefed them on pathways of study.
