From the HSIE Department
Year 8 Geography students completed fieldwork at the Royal Botanic Gardens Mt Annan on Friday 26th August in order to investigate the water management strategies used. Throughout the day, students enjoyed the hands-on activities including an observational walk, dip netting for bugs to determine water quality and using geographical instruments to collect primary data.
The data collected will now assist students in proposing solutions to water supply issues at the gardens. During the coming weeks, we hope to be able to investigate the effectiveness of our own water management strategies at Magdalene Catholic College using the skills they have developed on the excursion.
